About Gabrielle Katz Design

I have been graphic designer for over 25 years and I work with local business, organizations, non-profits and publications. After graduating from School of Visual Arts in NYC with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Graphic Design, I spent the first part of my career designing in the competitive world of New York City. I then relocated to Glens Falls, NY where I’ve continued designing locally. I’ve worked in custom Graphic Design firms and at national magazines such as Woman’s World (where I was the assistant art director) and at USA Today. I’ve also worked for many years at one of this area’s local newspapers designing advertising, and I’ve even designed and produced my own regional active lifestyle magazine.   

 

Listen, learn, create

I really enjoy working with my customers in the North Country. Many are husband and wife or family businesses. They all have the same things in common: hard work and the desire to succeed and be a part of the community. I admire their commitment and I enjoy being a part of their growth. When working with clients, I follow the same rules no matter the size of the business or organization: “listen, learn, create”. Graphic Design is about messaging and my goal is to create a design solution that quickly and effectively gets your message across to your audience.

 

A little bit about me

I am always designing. I may be out for a morning run when a design idea will pop into my head and the first thing I do when I get back home before I hit the shower is quickly draw it in my sketch book. Often that idea becomes a finished design on an advertisement or on a product like a T-Shirt, a mug or a sticker. 

 

When I am not working, I am hanging out with lovely miss Lola, our 16 1/2 lb. Shetland Sheepdog who is 100% sure she is the boss of our home. Her energy and eternal desire for playtime is a constant reminder for me to stay active and make life fun. I can also be found walking or jogging on the bike path, skiing in Cole’s Woods, shopping at local shops, or hiking around Lake George with my husband and son.
